Steel Track Ties

Steel track ties are produced from two hot rolled cross sections, the "M" and "H" sections. From these two basic sections, NARSTCO produces a number of tie sizes to suit any operating condition.
Installation
Steel ties require less material than wood ties for installation. Due to the recommended 24" spacing and the larger footprint of steel ties compared to wood or concrete, fewer ties are required for any track length. Steel ties can be installed with existing Maintenance of Way equipment and tools.

Steel ties are manufactured to accept the elastic type rail tie fastening systems. All orders are shipped with fastenings to ensure quick and easy installation.
